SPEAKING FOR ANIMAL LOVERS & LOVERS OF TRAVEL

"You could've heard a pin drop..." ~ Sally Fekety Bolgos

"Lorraine's presentation struck a cord... Her compassion and empathy is boundless, her message timeless, her insights profound. Thank you Lorraine for bringing the humanity of the animal world to those of us who have not had the same opportunity to travel to the corners on earth!" ~ Amy Hogg, International Community Response Manager, Best Friends

ANIMALS & PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD

Lorraine takes the audience on a world tour interweaving religion and folklore with personal stories and photos to explore the relationship people in other cultures have with their pets. Perfect for audiences interested in a broader perspective of the world desiring to understand the specific challenges animal lovers in other countries face. Most recently Lorraine pursued a 4 1/2 year odyssey through South America exploring Latin dog life with her own two Kenyan-born dogs. One of the highlights was discovering an Argentinian city with free spay/neuter/rabies with free door to door service. In exchange residents agree to mandatory micro-chipping and a fine if the animal causes a disturbance.

TRIP of a LIFETIME ~ NOT A LIFETIME of SAVINGS

Lorraine draws on experiences traveling solo since the age of 18 when she rode a motorcycle the length of California, to her recent adventures driving a 30 year old Chevy van through Latin America. Purchased for $750 and once used by the Arizona police department as a surveillance vehicle, the Chevy is testament to Lorraine's rallying cry, "The adventure of a lifetime doesn't take a lifetime of savings!" Lorraine reassures, guides and offers practical advice to women and men wanting to transform their lives no matter what their budget or goals in life.

FOLLOWING THE FORTY DAYS ROAD

This is the Sudanese version of the Wild West. While working as a photojournalist for a magazine in Cairo, Egypt, Lorraine was initially drawn to the exotic appearing Sudanese herders who traveled the ever changing trade route called The Forty Days Road. But she soon realized she had an equally strong interest in depicting the 200 camels she photographed while accompanying the herders across 500 miles of desert. Excellent for schools, travel organizations and photo groups.

DOGS WITHOUT BORDERS

Based on her book Dogs Without Borders - Tales and Tips from the Road, Lorraine shares gems of wisdom, humorous anecdotes and practical advice she's collected from herself and others who've also traveled extensively by motorcycle, horse, foot and in vehicles with their canine companions.

On a MISSION from DOG

Lorraine reads from her book of the same name. Warned about living in the country of her dreams - Kenya - Lorraine buries herself in domestic life. Lorraine is lured outdoors by 'DOG', a flea infested mutt who arrives on the doorstep. Realizing if she waits for her husband she won't go anywhere, she packs DOG into a 1983 Land Rover for their first adventure - Tanzania. Over the course of four years the pack of two encounter spitting cobras, drunken judges and other assorted wildlife. But it's while visiting nomadic tribes Lorraine ultimately decides, 'If I can't travel there with my dogs, the place isn't worth exploring.'
